Also, have to admit it was ...I guess I meant west. Also, have to admit it was more like three quarters of a block from the museum. But yes, parking is an exhilarating extreme sport.Tricia Springstubbhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09011689894699357496noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3461105532452403357.post-36573371110323838322008-11-04T09:28:00.000-08:002008-11-04T09:28:00.000-08:00HURRAY! Clever of you to disguise that intermediate location as East 25th near 9th, a geographical impossibility; I wish I'd thought of that. And I'm so glad that the Hungarian pastry shop is still in business.MJN/NYChttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14090191804140640599noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3461105532452403357.post-6895391926260014662008-11-04T08:19:00.000-08:002008-11-04T08:19:00.000-08:00Paul and I just came back from driving to NYC and ...Paul and I just came back from driving to NYC and as you might guess, MJ, I thought of you many times. I was able to lecture with authority on waiting for the broom--Paul was awed. On Saturday we found a spot on West 109th near Amsterdam that was good till Monday morning. On Sunday night we moved to East 25th near 9th. Monday was a test of our mettle. All we could find was a one hour spot on Amsterdam near the Hungarian pastry shop--we were meeting Delia for coffee and Paul was reduced to running back to the meter with quarters which was probably good for him, considering the amount of butter and cream we were ingesting. We had a wild idea of driving to the Guggenheim for a quick visit--we drove around and around and etc., and I was sinking into despair and proposing just getting out of this crazy city when voila, a spot right in front of the museum opened up. I mean, right in front! It was good till Tuesday, and when we realized that parking regulations were suspended till Wednesday I swear we considered staying another day, so as not to waste the spot.Tricia Springstubbhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09011689894699357496noreply@blogger.com
